Tara Dalton is a young BRCA gene mutation carrier who lost her mother, grandmother, and several aunts to breast cancer. She chose to have a prophylactic mastectomy using implants but had no sensation in her breasts after the mastectomy.
Ten years later, when her implants ruptured, Tara had a second reconstruction using her own tissue called DIEP flap. Her surgeon used a technique called ReSensation to restore feeling to Tara's breast that were lost during her mastectomy.
