Check out this incredible environment art project created by Vertex School alum Pu from the Game Art Program. 🔥
Inspired by the eerie atmosphere of the video game Control and the sci-fi horror film Event Horizon, this scene combines the look of a Soviet nuclear power plant with an old-fashioned laboratory to create a strange and mysterious environment.
Created entirely by Pu, the project showcases strong environment design, storytelling, lighting, and mood, demonstrating the skills developed during the Game Art Program at Vertex School.
Pu was mentored by Jacob Claussen, former Environment Artist at Ubisoft, gaining industry insights into professional environment art workflows.
Pu writes:
“This scene is inspired by the game Control and the film Event Horizon. I wanted to create an environment that combined a Soviet nuclear power plant with an old-fashioned laboratory, and with a bizarre atmosphere. Everything made by myself.”
What an incredible project blending atmosphere, environment storytelling, and technical execution. We can’t wait to see what Pu creates next!
