In this video I’m in Melbourne, Australia, trying an Australian version of the classic British afternoon tea to see how it compares with the traditional experiences back in the UK.

Afternoon tea is one of Britain’s most famous food traditions, usually featuring:

• Finger sandwiches
• Freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam
• Cakes and pastries
• A pot of tea (and sometimes champagne)

But does it work the same way on the other side of the world?

In this video I try the afternoon tea at Mr L in Melbourne and give my honest verdict on:

• The food
• The quality of the scones
• The cakes and desserts
• The overall experience
• And whether it’s actually worth it

Having already tried afternoon tea at Harrods, The Ritz, and The Rubens, this was a great chance to see how Australia’s version compares with the British original.
