With illness our sense of self changes, but our bodies change too. The idea of sexuality and 'sexy' we pick up from society is very narrow and most of the time doesn't include people with disability and serious illness.
Sometimes it's hard to feel sexy when you feel pain or your body is unappealing to you.

Dr. BJ Miller leads an informal and interactive discussion on intimacy, sexuality and sensuality as relates to serious illness and disability.
Deep physical connection is a primal need, but for people with serious illness or disability, intimacy and sexuality can be particularly hard. Sometimes that’s by choice, but too often it’s by the defaults and presumptions of the healthcare system and others around us. Exploring intimacy with fresh eyes can be a profound way to feel alive all the way to the end. In fact, there’s no need to die before we die.
