Why do birds build nests in stucco? This stucco is called EIFS it’s just in most case a thin of of stucco over styrofoam. Sometime s plasters are lazy and just place a thin layer up high thinking, who’s going to check the area for the correct depth? Birds do, and once they know they can easily break through just a finish coat they make nest, after all what can can get to a nest high on a stucco wall or next to a chimney also on top of a roof?
Birds living in your stucco chimney evict them. Why do birds nest in stucco chimneys?
You can fill a hole made by a bird with whatever you want, stucco or caulking, as the fact is, when they originally applied stucco to your home, around the area by the chimney where nobody sees someone who was plastering, thee left a hole or an opportunity for a bird to widen it live there and thereby protect itself and babies from predators.
I’m filling this hole with Sikaflex adhesive sealant caulking.
I feel for the bird as now I’m a homewrecker.
My guilt was so bad I placed a note that said that area, no vacancies in that area.
Let’s face it, snakes can climb trees but not houses.
One must admit this is funny, but I get two calls yearly about this odd stuff that seems woodpeckers like to make a home in styrofoam.
Or maybe they are sharpening their beaks since we cut most of their trees down.
Things that make you go, hmmm.
