Take a ride in the cab of the TTC's (‪@OfficialTTCchannel‬) Line 3 rapid transit line, in real-time, from Kennedy Station to McCowan Station.

The TTC's Line 3 opened in 1985. The provincial government hoped that the intermediate capacity rapid transit system technology used on Line 3 could be used across the suburban areas of Toronto. The TTC originally envisioned a streetcar service where Line 3 now operates but the provincial government of the day threatened to cut funding if the TTC didn't accept the change in technology for the line. Today, Line 3 is approaching the end of its service life, is due to be decommissioned in 2023 and will be replaced by an extension of Line 2 which is now under construction.

All footage captured in this video was recorded on July 6, 2022. All filming was completed under authorization from the Toronto Transit Commission. The TTC Subway font/typeface in this video is used under license from Quadrat Communications.
