The liquid glass phase of an anisotropic fluid composed of ellipsoidal-shaped colloids: The thermodynamic parameters \Gamma, \rho, \sigma, \epsilon, k_B, T, N , respectively, are the reduced temperature-dependent density, the number density, the ellipsoid small diameter, an energy scale, the Boltzmann constant, the temperature, and the total number of particle. Here and in the next figures and videos, k_BT=\epsilon=\sigma=1 . This liquid glass is a non-equilibrium phase of matter. In this phase, the particle can diffusively move and equilibrate their translation motions. However, the orientation motion cannot equilibrate. It is arrested in the phase space of the system. This arrest rotational motion is not done by any external force. It is a manifestation of the fact that the fluid fell out of equilibrium after the rotational glass transition had occurred (another type of glass transition).
