4 REASONS WHY OPTAVIA IS NOT A GOOD OPTION FOR SUSTAINABLE FAT LOSS
1. Too low in calories: Yes, sure, you need to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight, but Optavia takes it too far, which is why their clients initially lose weight. Some of the clients report eating just 800 to 1,000 calories calories per day. 🫣
2. Not enough nutrients: Under-eating deprives your body of essential nutrients + consuming the ultra-processed products from Optavia can leave your body depleted. You may even experience hair loss, fatigue, constipation, thyroid and hormonal issues, etc.
3. You might lose fat, but you will also lose muscle. Severely cutting calories can not only deprive you of nutrients, it can also lead to muscle loss.
4. Weight regain is a real issue: After eating low calorie for weeks, when you decide to stop Optavia and eat ‘normal’ again, your metabolic rate has slowed so much, all of the weight (and more) comes back!
