Hey guys, welcome my name is Alan from
the contractor license school and I want
to help you on how to get a general
engineering license in seven easy steps.
So here they are the first thing is you
need the necessary experience. Basically
that's four years at the journeyman
level experience. The second thing is you
got to jump into some kind of
contracting school, now the great news is
we are a contracting school so we help
you both with the online prep course and
program and/or
our live brick and mortar school. The
third thing you need is, you need to fill
out the application that's pretty
daunting things sometimes for some
people. But I want you to know our focus
is to help you by filling out that
application with you so we want to take
care of and leverage all that difficult
challenging stuff so you can focus on
simply going through our program and
passing our tests. The other thing is you
have to pass the state exams. Now there's
going to be two for the general
engineering contractor license, you're
gonna have both the law and the trade.
Now the law going to go over a class and
that's all the basic stuff you're going
to need to know to pass the exam things
like how to effectively run a business,
how to do all those kinds of things that
pertain to your specific trade and the
trade test is going to be made of a
variety of different things.
Some of those things are like structural
principles, like structural construction,
seismic safety, basic engineering. You're
also going to know some earthworks
surveying earthworks soils in geology,
surveying site preparation. You're also
going to need to know a variety of
things around surface work shoring and
dry utility and
waterproofing. So there's a variety of
things that you're going to need to know
in getting this license, so you'll want
to be able to go through our curriculum
and get through that so you can pass our
tests. The other thing is the fifth thing
is, you're going to need to get a surety
bond. Now with that surety bond that's
basically about 100 to 150 dollars for
the year and it covers you for $15,000.
You're going to need to contact an
insurance company, but hey good news
we're also an insurance company so we'll
take care of that with you. Next
number six, and you're gonna need to get
a live scan. That's basically going down
getting your fingerprints you can do
that at any UPS store we can send you a
link that shows you the nearest place to
your house and then you can go get that
done. And the great news is once you get
that done there they'll automatically
send that off to the contractor's state
licensing board so you won't need to
worry about it. Finally number seven, you
just got to make it happen. Hey, you're
