Markets end lower amid persistent Venezuela-related geopolitical tensions. Sensex closes down 321 points at 85,440, while the Nifty slips 85 points to settle at 26,244. Nifty Bank also declines, closing 106 points lower at 60,044. IT stocks remain under pressure through the session, while selective buying is seen in realty and consumer durables. HDFC Bank, Wipro, Infosys, HCL Tech, ONGC and Bajaj Finance feature among the top Nifty losers. On the upside, Nestle, BEL, Eicher Motors, HUL, Tata Steel, UltraTech Cement and Asian Paints lead the gains.
