Wowee I can't believe Stardew Valley has already been around for 10 years! Obviously this game has been a huge influence in my life, with both how many hours I've put into it and how many songs I've covered from it, so I wanted to celebrate its 10th anniversary by making a sequel to Deep in the Mines (2023 album) and covering the other 6 mines themes (including the volcano mines)! Special thanks to Caitlin, Joshua, Ian, and donut (from Warp Whistles Music) for joining me on this track as performers and for joining the album as arrangers! The album releases this Thursday on the 26th aka THE 10th anniversary!

Since this is the first track you hear inside the mines and on the album, I wanted to include different ideas that demonstrate various sounds you might hear in the mines. The pedal effects on the harp represent the echoes you hear from the walls of the caves. The extra reverb on the violin makes it sound far away like subtle sounds in the distance. The sparse kalimba notes capture the sparkles of ore gems flickering in the light. The lofi-inspired drums pair up with delicate marimba arpeggios to highlight the gentleness of the clarinet melody. I hope you enjoy listening to Crystal Bells as we explore deeper in the mines!
