Inspiration

We were inspired to create SaveEarth by the growing urgency of climate change and the need for collective action. Witnessing the devastating effects of environmental disasters, such as the earthquake in Tunisia and the ongoing crisis affecting Lake Tanganyika, solidified our commitment to building a platform that empowers individuals to make a difference.
What it does

SaveEarth is a web app designed to connect people with the resources and opportunities they need to fight climate change and promote environmental sustainability. It offers a comprehensive suite of features, including:

Informative articles that raise awareness about climate change and environmental issues.
Actionable resources that guide users in making eco-friendly choices and contributing to sustainable practices.
Engagement opportunities that connect individuals with local initiatives, global movements, and scientific research.

How we built it

We utilized a combination of technologies to build the SaveEarth platform:

Frontend: React JS, Redux, and Sass
Backend: Node JS and MongoDB

The development process required careful planning, meticulous execution, and a willingness to adapt to unforeseen challenges.
Challenges we ran into

One of the primary challenges we faced was ensuring the platform's ability to handle a diverse range of users, needs, and geographical locations. We meticulously designed the user interface to be intuitive and accessible, while the backend architecture was scaled to accommodate a growing user base and data volume.
