The Great Victorian Rail Trail | Tallarook to Mansfield

Описание: Some blokes go to the Gold Coast. We went to Bonnie Doon.

Today’s ride takes us from Tallarook to Mansfield along the legendary Great Victorian Rail Trail, with a detour to Alexandra for snacks and morale boosting (mostly because magpies were treating us like low-flying targets all day). I even had special t-shirts made for the ride, cheers Jules from Rev It Threads, they're going straight to the pool room!

This trail’s a beauty. It winds its way through the Goulburn River, the Trawool Valley, past granite boulders, sleepy towns like Yea, Yarck, and of course, Bonnie Doon. We crossed the Bonnie Doon Bridge over Lake Eildon, rolled through farmland with ancient red gums, and the star of the show, the Cheviot Tunnel. For most people it’s a tunnel. For me, it’s basically the Taj Mahal of warrens.

We even spotted the Blue Tree in Yea, a mental health awareness symbol reminding everyone it’s okay to not be okay.
