This week, we’re digging into one of the most iconic blues-based grooves in jazz — Chitlins Con Carne by Kenny Burrell. This tune sits right at the intersection of jazz, blues, and Latin-influenced rhythm, and it’s a perfect example of how a simple harmonic framework can become something unforgettable through groove and feel. The changes are pretty straight ahead, but the bass line and rhythmic concept are what make this tune so distinctive.
