Yadagirigutta Temple, officially known as Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, is a very famous Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Narasimha (an incarnation of Lord Vishnu). It is located in Yadagirigutta town, about 60 km from Hyderabad, in the state of Telangana, India.

Historical and Mythological Background:
According to legend, a sage named Yadava (son of the great sage Rishyasringa and Shanta) performed intense penance at this hill for Lord Narasimha's blessings.

Pleased with his devotion, Lord Narasimha appeared in five different forms:

Jwala Narasimha (fiery form)

Gandabherunda Narasimha (two-headed form)

Yogananda Narasimha (peaceful yogic form)

Ugra Narasimha (angry form)

Lakshmi Narasimha (along with Goddess Lakshmi)

These five forms are collectively worshipped at Yadagirigutta, and the deity is considered very powerful and benevolent.

The name "Yadagirigutta" comes from "Yadava + Giri (hill) + Gutta (hillock)" — meaning the hill (gutta) where Sage Yadava meditated.

Important Developments:
The temple has been a significant pilgrimage center for centuries, attracting devotees seeking relief from problems and illnesses.

In recent years, especially after the formation of Telangana state (2014), the government under Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) undertook a massive renovation and expansion of the temple, making it one of the most modern and grand temple complexes in India.

The new temple (called "Yadadri" now officially) was reconstructed with traditional stone architecture using granite and intricate carvings, preserving ancient temple-building traditions.

Unique Features:
The five forms of Narasimha are rare to be found together in one temple.

It is believed that the Lord personally guards the temple premises.

The sanctum sanctorum is inside a natural cave on the hillock.

Devotees believe visiting Yadagirigutta grants protection, peace, and fulfillment of desires.
