Phuket travel vlog 🇹🇭 First paid overseas trip flying business ✈️ Bioluminescence + Similan Islands

I actually can't believe I'm typing these words but we were PAID to travel in lay flat seats to Thailand (and Japan but that vlog is yet to come). We flew AirAsia and had a stopover in Kuala Lumpur before landing in Phuket.

It was a short trip with only three nights but we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Phuket Patong Beach Central which was really nice and super cheap!

Our first day trip was the Phang Nga Bay Bioluminescence tour which departed around lunch time. The mini van transfer took us to the marina where we jumped on the speedboat. We stopped at heaps of different islands to swim, snorkel, jump on sea canoes, walk through caves and eat dinner on a floating village.

After dark, our boat took us to a huge cave where we had to swim to shore to see the Bioluminscent plankton. It was INCREDIBLE, like one of the most memorable travel experiences I've ever had. It's a real shame we couldn't pick it up on camera but it also forced us to just be present in the moment. 10/10 experience.

The following day we departed on a HUGE day tour with a two hour mini van drive to a different pier. Then we had a 1.5 hour speedboat ride through the open ocean out to the Similan Islands. The swell was big and we felt pretty nauseas. We stopped at two different islands and two snorkelling spots. We hiked up to an incredible viewpoint at Sail Rock and had a delicious buffet lunch. I honestly couldn't believe the colour of the water here.
