I've received another sample kit from Tamiya! I saw the real thing at the Hobby Show, but seeing it in my own hands is even more amazing! This is a fascinating kit from Tamiya that impressed me with its ingenious design!

Intricate details are meticulously recreated, from the ultra-thin plastic antennas to the openable and closeable helicopter hangar shutter.

Despite its affordable price, it has a low part count and is easy to build, making it an excellent kit for both beginners and veterans.

In this video, I review the new product from Tamiya, the "1/700 Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Destroyer Escort FFM-1 Mogami." This kit recreates the actual stealth destroyer that entered service in April 2022 as a waterline model. The slanted hull and bridge structures, which are designed to enhance its stealth capability, are precisely recreated. The most surprising part is the ingenious design that allows you to snap-fit the hull and main structure from the bottom. It also has plenty of gimmicks, such as a swiveling main gun that uses a poly-cap and an openable and closeable helicopter hangar. The slide marks include the ship numbers for up to the 6th ship, and the affordable price of 2,420 yen is also a great feature!
