HYDERABAD: The much touted longest winter session is likely to be cut short as the state government is flooded with complaints of administrative slowdown due to the concentration of the entire officialdom on the Assembly and Legislative Council proceedings. Accordingly, the original 50-day session is to be reduced to 30 days or even less. The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) will take a call on this at its meeting on November 17. Sources in the government said the session may last till November 23.

The TRS government has stumped all other political parties by proposing the 50-day winter session. The chief minister has also offered to extend the session if the members so sought. Though the Congress, BJP and TDP were taken aback by the unprecedented decision of the CM, they are now trying to corner the state government by raising several issues and creating chaos in the House.
