The Riemann-Christoffel tensor is a tensor of order four, so there are many possible symmetries in the indices. We prove two of these symmetries. First, we show that if we cyclically permute the lower indices and add the result, we will have zero. Second we show that when we trace on the upper and first lower index, we again get zero. These identities are called the algebraic Bianchi identities.
