India is set to witness a massive transformation in its drone warfare capabilities as a record 24 companies have bid for the MALE UAV (Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance) tender. Under this strategic tri-service acquisition plan, the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force will procure 87 advanced MALE drones to significantly enhance surveillance, reconnaissance, intelligence gathering, and precision strike capabilities.
With an estimated value of ₹20,000–30,000 crore, this program strongly supports the Make in India initiative, requiring indigenous manufacturing of critical components such as airframes, avionics, engines, sensors, and communication systems. This overwhelming response from both private and public sector firms highlights India’s rapid shift toward building a self-reliant UAV ecosystem and reducing dependence on foreign imports.
This video explains how the MALE UAV program will reshape India’s defence strategy, strengthen border monitoring, and modernize unmanned aerial systems for future warfare readiness. Stay tuned for in-depth defence updates, strategic military developments, and insights into India’s growing defence industry.
