Former Minister of Food and Agriculture and NPP presidential hopeful, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has launched a blistering attack on the NDC government over what he describes as broken promises to cocoa farmers.
Addressing party delegates, Dr. Acheampong accused the NDC of lying to cocoa farmers, citing stagnant producer prices and unpaid farmers since November 2025. He warned that the neglect of the cocoa sector threatens livelihoods and Ghana’s economic backbone.
The NPP flagbearer hopeful urged delegates to rally behind his vision to restructure and transform the cocoa sector, promising better pricing, timely payments, and long-term sustainability for farmers.
