The band presents a renewed lineup that blends tradition with modernity: Lutz "Lüül" Graf-Ulbrich (guitar), Simon Rainer (Green Desert Tree/guitar), Daniel Cordes (bass), Burghard Rausch (drums), and Tim Sund (keys). With Momentum*, the pioneers of experimental German rock present their first studio album since 1999, taking listeners on an impressive musical journey. Otherworldly sounds, pulsating rhythms, magnificent guitar riffs, hypnotic sequences, and driving basslines create an astonishing, cinematic soundscape—acting almost like a time machine connecting past and future. *Momentum is an exciting album from Agitation Free, proving they remain among the most innovative bands in the German music scene.

From 1967 to 1974, Agitation Free was one of Germany’s most innovative Krautrock bands, boasting an international reputation. They combined improvised instrumental rock, classical avant-garde, and elements of "world music"—long before that term even existed. In 1972, they became the first rock band to tour Egypt, Lebanon, Cyprus, and Greece, and they were part of the cultural program for the Munich Olympic Games.

They originally released two albums: the classic Malesch (1972)—inspired by their travels in the Orient—and 2nd (1973), which was far more jazz-oriented, rock-driven, and electronic.

After the band stopped touring and some members embarked on solo careers, the ensuing years saw the release of several CDs featuring material that had initially been deemed too adventurous or "offbeat" for commercial release at the time. Four additional CDs containing restored live and studio recordings appeared over the following years. These include high-energy live recordings from France and Cologne, the highly experimental Looping IV on Last (1976), and the more laid-back River Of Return (1999).

Then, in 2011, Shibuya Nights was released—a spectacular live recording of three 2007 concerts in Tokyo that perfectly captures the spirit of the band's early years.
