Описание: Cesarini was inspired to compose this suite by three Bizantine mosaics found in churches in Venice and Palermo, Italy. The main musical themes of the movements are drawn from Gregorian chants and the sounds, full of atmosphere, mystery, and brilliant colorations, are deeply influenced by the music of Ravel and Respighi. The mosaics depict three events in the Biblical record: the Birth of Christ, the rending of the veil in the Temple at the resurrection of Christ, and the angel attending the empty tomb of the Savior.
