Joining us on this week's I'm LIVE is the one of the hottest rock acts in the Korean indie scene – Se So Neon! Comprised of vocalist and guitarist Hwang So-yoon, bassist Moon Fancy, and drummer Kang To, the trio made themselves known with their signature musical style that combines rock, blues, and synth pop.

The band was named after a children's magazine published from 1960's to 1980's, meaning "new youth" or "flying bird" in Korean, epitomizing the young trio's desire to freely explore all genres of music. Thanks to Hwang So-yoon's androgynous vocals and rhythmical guitar riffs, Moon Fancy's fluid bass lines and Kang To's unique drumming style, the three quickly solidified a stable fan base in indie circles even before their official debut. After performing together for a year, they released their first EP, "Summer Plumage," in 2017 with Kim Han-joo from Silica Gel as the producer. Full of potential and energy, the trio is diversifying Korean music while nourishing everyone's soul at the same time.

새소년은 황소윤(보컬/기타), 문팬시(베이스), 강토(드럼) 세 명으로 구성된 밴드다. 2016년 현재의 멤버로 팀을 결성한 새소년은 데뷔한 지 1년도 채 되지 않아 굵직한 인디 루키 프로그램에 이름을 올리며 자신의 음악을 알렸다. 우연히 발견한 옛 잡지 이름에서 따온 '새소년'이라는 팀명은 '새로움'과 '날아가는 새'를 동시에 의미하며 한 가지에 치우치지 않고 자유로운 음악성을 추구하는 팀의 의미를 완성시켰다.

홍대 근처의 클럽에서 공연을 시작한 새소년은 보컬 황소윤의 중성적인 음색과 리드미컬한 기타 연주, 문팬시의 유연한 베이스, 독특한 스타일을 가진 강토의 드럼 사운드로 음반을 발표하기 전임에도 불구하고 마니아층을 형성했다. 그리고 2017년 발표한 이들의 데뷔 앨범 [여름깃]은 밴드 실리카겔의 김한주가 참여, 서정성부터 폭발적인 에너지까지 새소년이 추구하는 다채로운 음악을 담았다. 음악적 역량은 물론 멤버 개개인의 매력까지 발산하고 있는 새소년은 단독 공연과 페스티벌을 통해 밴드 음악 마니아들의 입소문을 타고 최근 TV 프로그램에 출연, 일반 대중까지 점점 팬층을 넓혀가고 있다.
