Merriam‑Webster calls an enigma “something hard to understand or explain.” Scripture has that category – and it uses it about the way we see God. Paul says we now see “through a glass, darkly” – literally, enigmatically – in 1 Corinthians 13:12. So what if part of that blur is our view of Eve and the phrase “mother of all living”?
In this video, we dig into the biblical idea of enigma, the Greek word ainigma, and the Hebrew rooted idea of hard sayings – then trace “mother of all living” from Genesis into the removed book of Sirach, and finally to Paul’s “Jerusalem above… the mother of us all.” We’re testing whether these “hidden” texts echo Scripture, not replace it, and asking how they expose our blind spots about women, the image of God, and the restoration of all things.
You’ll see how:
• “Enigma” is a biblical category for how God sometimes speaks
• “Mother of all living / all things” shows up again in Sirach 40:1
• Galatians 4:26 calls Jerusalem above “the mother of us all”
• Jesus’ promise to “restore all things” must include our warped view of Eve and women
If you’re tired of shallow sermons that name the Greek word and then run back to clichés, and you’re hungry for slow, text‑driven Hebrew/Greek study – especially around the “female equation” – you’re in the right place.
