This week a customer sent in some 8mm cine film in a very poor state and asked if we could salvage anything.
Upon inspection, it was clear the film reels had been subjected to more than just damp - possibly a flood judging by the damage. On first glance, they seemed destroyed, with much of the emulsion simply washed away. However, examining closely, we found the worst of the damage is restricted to the outer edges, so we were able to transfer the film and restore the pictures in the middle.
Given the footage is of a beautiful wedding of significant nostalgic importance, I think it was well worth the effort. Check out the short video and see what you think...
