20 Years Of Singing In Heaven Part 1/ Fado de Goa/ Tribute to Amalia

Описание: Enjoy the journey of Fado that you will experience through this Concert that was put up in February 2019 in Goa- India, to commemorate the 20th Death Anniversary of Amália Rodrigues. We open with the traditional Fado de Coimbra followed by Fado de Lisboa. Taking you then to the beginning of Fado with the mystical Maria Severa who was followed a century later by Amália, who rose in fame to become the Queen of the Fado. Not forgetting her contemporaries, we include Maria Theresa de Noronha and pay tribute to Celeste Rodrigues, Amália's sister who passed on in 2018 at the age of 95. Alain Oulman, the musician who influenced the second half of Amalia's career, is featured while working with Amalia and so are her famous Fados. We also recreate a Casa de Fado, as would be witnessed in the Fado areas of Lisbon. We pay our humble tribute to the Queen of Fado.
20 years have passed ..... but Amália lives on forever !!!

Fado de Goa
This pioneering project spearheaded by National Awardee, Fadista Sonia Shirsat along with Marlene Noronha and Carlos Noronha, was started towards the end of 2016 with the main aim of protecting and popularising the Fado in Goa. This initiative has had over 400 students through 5 batches.
This project was initially supported by the Taj group of hotels and safaris followed by The Deccan Heritage Foundation along with The Bagri Foundation.
