Matar paneer (मटर पनीर) is a spicy paneer gravy recepe, in which paneer and paes are cooked together.
Ingredients, for marination of 100 g .Paneer, cottage cheese ,cut into cubes
1. red chili powder half tsp
2 salt half tsp
3. coarse pepper quarer tsp
4. peas 50 G
Mix to paneer and leave for 20 minutes
Ingredients for gravy
1. Whole spices for tadka include 1 bay leaf, a cinnamon stick, cumin seeds half tsp, coriander seeds half tsp, green cardmoms 2
2. Powder spices are
coriander powder 1 tsp
garam masal half tsp
turmeric powder3/4 tsp
red chili powder half tsp
kashmiri chili powder 1 tsp
cumin powder less than half tsp
chili flakes1/4 tsp
3. Kasuri menthi 3 /4 tsp
4. Cream or malai 1 tbsp
5, Refined oil for frying paneer
6. Mustard oil or any 2 tbsp for gravy
7. Onion 1 chopped fine
8. Large tomato 1 grated
9. Ginger garlic paste half tbsp
Preparation
i.Mix salt ,chilli flakes pepper to paneer .leave for 20 minutes,then fry them
2. Heat 2 tbsp oil in pan add whole spices, saute for half a minute on low heat,add chopped onion,fry till golden add ginger garlic paste saute half minute, add tomato and salt
3. Saute till tomato is cooked, add all powder spices saute for 3,4 minutes .Add 2 tsp water in between.
4. Add paneer cubes fry for a minute add 3 tbsp water close the lid ,pressure cook till 1 whistle.let pressure be released.
5. Open the lid, now add fried paneer, kasuri menthi, cook for 2 minutes add cream and serve.
