In this exercise, you'll be doing:
Hum to Ma
Single Note Triple Na
Ma Skip Downs
Octave Arpeggio E to Ah
Major Scale (any vowel)
Duration: 16:05
Key Points:
Don't completely close down your mouth as you sing the Hum to Ma, you want to feel some space in your mouth even as your lips are closed on the Hum.
Focus on a weightless quality in your voice when singing the Ma Skip Downs; this will help you move with ease. Open throat, open mouth, aim for clarity!
Try not to surge in volume at the top of the Octave Arpeggios; aim to keep your volume level the same on each phrase.

We love an exercise that gets you moving! In the Hum to Ma, make sure your mouth is not completely closed down. It’s always best practice to leave some space in your mouth while humming, even though your lips will be closed. Focus on feeling that vibration in your nose as you sing the hum. Ah, the Ma Skip Downs🙌 These are great for building your agility and flexibility. Keep your voice light on these so you can move more quickly between notes. As you sing through the Octave Arpeggios, connect your notes as smoothly as possible. Try to not surge in volume right at the top; see if you can control the high note each time. Choose any vowel that you like for the Major Scale. Breath management will be important here. Don’t expel all your air right at the start of each phrase; spread it out evenly.
