Prof. Kishore Mahbubani is a Distinguished Fellow at the National University of Singapore's (NUS') Asia Research Institute, a former Permanent Representative for Singapore at the United Nations (UN), as well as a former President of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) from 2001 to 2002 and Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy from 2004 to 2017.
In this interview, Prof. Mahbubani shares about his past as a student, diplomat and academic in a candid discussion about himself as a person, instead of policy questions like in other interviews. We ask him about his writing process, what he thinks leaders should be made of, whether he has plans for a third career, and other things which you may not find in his published work.
The NUS PPE Club was founded as the convergence point for all things Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at the National University of Singapore. Since 2019, we have strived to enrich our student community by organising exciting opportunities to help fulfill their potentials, as well as to forge camaraderie among ourselves, while we take our undergraduate days together.
