As part of the operation, police teams are conducting raids and verification at various gas agency godowns and retail outlets to ensure that LPG cylinders are being distributed legally and without irregularities.
Sources said that the drive aims to curb the possibility of black marketing, hoarding, and illegal sale of domestic LPG cylinders in the wake of increasing public anxiety regarding supply. The inspections are also intended to verify stock registers, distribution records, and compliance with safety and regulatory norms.
Police teams have already carried out checks in several areas including Biramitrapur and Kuarmunda, where gas agencies and storage facilities are being closely monitored.
