On August 18, 2025, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a man in Bunnell, Florida, who believed he was being scammed. The victim stated that he received a phone call from an unknown male claiming to be with the Sheriff’s Office.
The caller told him that he had an active arrest warrant and would be taken to jail unless he paid $5,000.After receiving the report, detectives began assisting the victim and guided him through further communication with the suspected scammer.
