What is Gyoda City Rice Paddy Art?
Rice paddy art has been established as a tradition from early summer to autumn that colors the rice fields in Gyoda, the rice-producing region.This effort to express pictures and letters using multiple rice plants of different colors, using paddy fields as canvas, is in the limelight as a tourist spot in Gyoda.
Boasting a size of about 2.8 hectares, it was certified as the "World's Largest Rice Field Art" by the Guinness World Records in 2015.This rice paddy art will be planted in mid-June and harvested in mid-October.The best time to see it is from mid-July to mid-October, from the adjacent Ancient Lotus Hall Observatory.
