First, download and install the Venmo app to your phone
Venmo is available on both the Google Play Store and the App Store. After you've downloaded and installed it to your phone, you can now open it to begin setting up your account.

Second, sign up for an account
● Choose whether you want to sign up with your email or Facebook account.
● Create a strong password for your Venmo account.
● Read the terms and conditions on the next page and select "Next," then the User Agreement and Privacy Policy, and select "Next" again.
● Enter your phone number to receive a four-digit verification code, then enter it and select "Submit Code."
After your account is created, you can add a profile picture and a new username, or skip this part and do it later.

Third, sync your contacts to your Venmo account
● If you did not sign up using your Facebook account, you can link it now and sync your Facebook friends to your Venmo account.
● Select "Next" and choose the phone contacts you want to sync.
You can also choose to skip this part and get back to it later.
Fourth, add and verify your bank account
● Open the home screen on your Venmo app and tap on the drop-down menu in the upper left-hand corner.
● Select "Transfer Balance," then select whether you want to transfer the balance instantly or in 1-3 business days.
● Select "Bank Verification" at the bottom of the screen.
● If you have an account with a major bank, select "Instant Verification," log in to your bank's website, and connect it to Venmo.
● If you have an account with a smaller bank, select "Manual Verification" and then enter your account number and your bank's routing number. This may take up to three days before your bank can verify.
● If you selected "Instant Verification," select "Continue" twice, allowing Venmo to use Plaid, an external application, to connect to your bank.
● Select your bank from the list provided, or search for it using the search bar if it's not listed. If you don't find it, you'll have to go back and select "Manual Verification" to verify your bank.
● Enter the required banking credentials, then follow the on-screen instructions to verify.
