Follow along as I get to separating the crankcases on the xj900f engine and pull the rest of the transmission from inside. We tackle the middle gear sleeve, selector forks and drum, alternator, crank and the transmission. As per usual, much calamity throughout, so please don't view this as a 'how to!' Stripped bolts, broken aluminium galore. If you're squeamish and cringe at the thought of heavy handed mallets...look away!
This is the first if the two engines I have. From the two 'repairs/spares' engines we'll have one good engine to go back together. The next steps in this project will be measuring, checking tolerances, scrubbing, painting and eventually piecing the engine back together!
