"TANGOLANDÓ" es un viaje integrador de sonidos nacido de la necesidad de comunicación e intercambio en la música latinoamericana. La pasión desgarradora del tango junto a la sensualidad y picardía de los géneros criollos y afroperuanos dan vida a esta propuesta mestiza, fluída y orgánica de la mano de Sofía Tosello y Yuri Juárez. Desde los sonidos melancólicos del bandoneón al repicar cadencioso y pícaro del cajón tangolandó tiene en la justa medida una recreación de los tangos de siempre a través de la frescura de la música peruana costeña contemporánea.
Tangolandó nace en la ciudad de Nueva York entre un músico peruano (Yuri Juárez) y una cantante argentina (Sofía Tosello) concientes de la necesidad de comunicación en una ciudad tan cosmopolita y variada. Nueva York es el lugar de encuentro de las culturas del mundo donde no resulta extraño que se den todo tipo de intercambios y manifestaciones artísticas.
El disco trae temas clásicos del tango como "Cambalache", "Vuelvo al sur", "el último café", "la arenosa", "nostalgias", "milonga sentimental", "Volver", "naranjo en flor", "niebla del riachuelo" y composiciones nuevas como "Canción inútil" y "Astorpolka"(Yuri Juárez). Temas de Carlos Gardel, Ástor Piazzolla, Enrique Cadícamo, Homero Expósito entre otros.
Tangolando (Sofia Tosello/Yuri Juárez) is a journey made of sounds and shapes, from the River Plate to the Afro and Creole rhythms of the Peruvian Coast, a new and refreshing fusion that connects musical styles such as tango, milonga, lando, festejo, waltz all in one unique and innovative sound. The penetrating passion of the tango siding with the naughtiness of a milonga through the joyous festejo, with sounds of Peruvian cajón and bandoneon: the result is this production, born from the 21st century's new musical conscience and its need to integrate, also called "the fusion". The repertoire includes tango classics filtered through Peruvian rhythms, songs like Cambalache, Vuelvo al Sur, Naranjo en Flor, Nostalgias, Volver, Milonga Sentimental, that are treated with finesse and a stylistic intent, on the technique as well as the interpretation.


Yuri Juárez is a guitarist, arranger and composer from Lima, specializing in Afro-Peruvian music, folk and fusion. Yuri has shared the stage and recorded with the likes of Eva Ayllón, Susana Baca, Chaqueta Piaggio Ebelin Ortiz, Pilar de la Hoz, iconic Peruvian composers such as Kiri Escobar and Javier Lazo, and trail blazing bands including the Gabriel Alegría Afro-Peruvian Sextet, Novalima, Teatro del Milenio and Sin Líneas en el Mapa. He also explores the Afro-Peruvian Jazz current with Edward Perez, Rafael "Fusa" Miranda and Juan Medrano Cotito. In 2008 Yuri releases his first album, Afroperuano, which achieves great success in domestic and international criticism and in 2009 receives the Latin Jazz Corner Awards in the categories of Best Afroperuvian Jazz Album and Best Latin Jazz Guitarist debut. yurijuarez.net

Originally from Argentina, Sofia Tosello's music is rooted in the variety of Latin American cancion traditions, including tango, chacarera, bolero filin, son, zamba, bossa nova and Brazilian popular music. There are also shades of jazz scene and a bit of funk in her song stylings. Tosello prefers to see herself as a border-crosser, not bound by the logic of genre.
