A few years ago, virtual reality (VR) seemed like a futuristic device that can only be used on big-budget productions and sci-fi movies.

However, with the innovation in technology such as Oculus, Samsung Gear VR, and other affordable VR platforms, it's pretty clear that it is no longer just for movies.

VR presents an incredible opportunity for marketers to let their customers experience their brands or service in a more personal manner.

Whether you are providing a service or selling a product, it is always beneficial when you can find a new way to broadcast what you do to your customers.

An example of this is IKEA launching it's app, IKEA Place.

It lets you visualize how their furniture would look in your living room without having to buy the actual furniture itself. This helps their customers make better decisions with the furniture they buy.
