Описание: Raag-Mala Toronto and the Museum present Ustad Waseem Ahmed Khan, a powerful vocalist and descendant of the Agra Gharana musical lineage. Here, Ustad Waseem Ahmed Khan presents improvisations based on musical scales that serve as the lifeblood of Indian classical music and have no traditional western equivalent.

This collaboration was part of our 2018/19 season, The Other Side of Fear, featuring acclaimed artists who have transcended fear through music, dance, and spoken word.

Ustad Waseem Ahmed Khan is a torchbearer of his musical lineage, who studied under his grandfather Ustad Ata Hussain Khan and his father Ustad Naseem Ahmed Khan. He teaches music at the prestigious ITC Sangeet Research Academy in Kolkata.
