Big update for EPFO subscribers!

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is preparing to transfer money lying in lakhs of inactive PF accounts back to account holders. However, there’s an important catch — no additional interest will be paid on certain accounts.

An EPF account is considered ‘inactive’ if no contribution has been made by the employee or employer for more than 36 months. Currently, around 31.86 lakh inactive EPF accounts hold nearly ₹10,903 crore. Out of these, 7 lakh accounts with balances up to ₹1,000 (around ₹30.52 crore in total) may be refunded on priority.
