The only heavy industry in South Bengal is the Mobarakganj Sugar Mill in Jhenaidah. Even in its 5th year of establishment, the company has not seen any profit. The workers allege that the mill is heading towards destruction due to widespread corruption. On the other hand, the workers also allege non-cooperation in the sale of jaggery and the upgrading of vehicles. They demand that the government take necessary steps to revive the traditional company.
