Conditions- wind SW, SSW, W, 10-14mph 1027mbs, driving drizzle and 5 mins. of sun.
A great turnout despite the mist and drizzle, with a wet welcome to our casting cousins from over the border (notably from the up north "levelling up" areas, and also that popular dinghy destination on the south coast). We did a sheep count at the end of the day, just to make sure our visitors had genuine intentions.
The biggest impact both on and off the field was from "gentleman" Jason Carter, who has redefined what "power casting" actually looks like. Unhindered by the Welsh mud, ignoring the persistent niggling rain, dismissing the uphill gradient, and laughing off the crosswind, the hedgerows beyond the back of the court were no obstacle either. To do the thousand plus aggregate under these less than ideal conditions was something special.
Worthy of note, JC was using a Century prototype that looked positively anorexic, with a profile that make my old bass rods look too fat.
