Описание: We went WAY down south in Louisiana to visit some of the filming locations that bookend the movie Deepwater Horizon. Obviously, most of the movie takes place on an oil rig set. We went to where they built those sets (abandoned Six Flags New Orleans) and featured a little bit of 'making of' footage. This video also features exclusive behind the scenes photos and the ELEVEN Memorial which now sits in a private sculpture garden.

Much is made of the environmental disaster and lack of responsibility by BP causing the oil spill and rightly so. However, often overlooked are the workers who were on the rig that day and the eleven who were killed during the disaster. Peter Berg and Mark Wahlberg wanted to put the spotlight on them. The ELEVEN statue was built by artist, Jason Kimes who financed its placement in New Orleans for two years. After the two years, it was purchased by an art collector and placed in his private sculpture garden. We got to visit that and more.

Deepwater Horizon was directed by Peter Berg and scored by Steve Jablonsky. It stars Mark Wahlberg as Mike Williams, Kurt Russell as Jimmy Harrell, and John Malkovich as Donald Vidrine. It also stars Gina Rodriguez, Dylan O'Brien, Kate Hudson, Ethan Suplee and others. The movie was released in 2016 in was nominated at the Academy Awards for Best Sound Editing and Best Visual Effects. As far as I know, it was filmed entirely in Louisiana.
