'All Iranian Airlines Will Be Grounded': US Unleashes New Weapon Against Iran | World News

Описание: U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has warned that Iranian airlines could be shut out of international operations from September 23, escalating Washington’s economic pressure on Tehran. Bessent said airports, fuel suppliers, ticketing companies and other businesses servicing Iranian carriers could also face consequences, including losing access to the U.S. dollar system. The warning follows the U.S. Treasury’s September 8 sanctions on Iran’s remaining active airlines and aviation-support networks. The latest move could further isolate Iran’s aviation sector, which has already faced years of restrictions on aircraft, spare parts and maintenance. Several countries have also taken measures affecting Iranian carriers.
