After moving to America from Vietnam, they opened a grocery store and many other businesses that quickly thrived, and for years, it felt like everything they touched turned to gold. However, things took a turn in 2022, when construction crews worked through a major renovation that ended with a lawsuit from the contractor over payments. The second blow: a lawsuit from the homeowners' association. While those battles played out in private, beyond closed doors, the outside began to tell a different story. The lawn went from manicured to overgrown, and weeds overtook the pavings around the front fountain and along the driveway. The crown jewel at the neighborhood’s entrance became a daily reminder of something lost. Then, one day, it was over. The property wasn't sold; it wasn't voluntarily abandoned.
