Receiving a Procedural Fairness Letter (PFL) from IRCC can be stressful, but it’s also an opportunity to respond before a final decision is made. A PFL means the officer has concerns about your application — for example, issues with eligibility, admissibility, or misrepresentation — and wants to give you a chance to explain or provide more evidence.
In this video, we explain what a Procedural Fairness Letter is, why IRCC sends it, and how to prepare a proper response. You’ll also learn what not to do, and why a rushed or incomplete reply can seriously harm your case.
If you’ve received a Procedural Fairness Letter, take it seriously. The deadline is firm, and extensions are rarely granted. Review the officer’s concerns carefully, gather supporting evidence, and get professional advice before responding.
