Turkey FM meets unity government in Libya

Описание: (30 May 2016) Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu met members of Libya's UN-backed Government of National Accord in Tripoli on Monday.
Cavusoglu held talks with Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj and Foreign Minister Mohamed Siala.
The visit was part of a joint effort by the European Union and Arab countries to boost al-Sarraj's authority.
Cavusoglu said Turkey was looking forward to being the first country to resume work at their embassy in Tripoli.
Libya slid into chaos following the 2011 uprising that toppled Moammar Gadhafi and has been split between rival governments since 2014.
Western nations hope the UN-backed government of al-Sarraj can unite Libya in order to combat an increasingly powerful Islamic State group (IS) affiliate in the country.
