Borno State was hit by another deadly assault this morning as ISWAP militants launched a coordinated attack on a military base in Jakana. The insurgents, armed with explosives and heavy firepower, caused significant damage to the facility, destroying armoured tanks and seizing ammunition. Reports indicate several soldiers were killed, though the exact toll remains unconfirmed. This attack comes amidst a series of deadly ambushes, including the recent loss of a Lieutenant Colonel and his team. Despite official claims of the insurgency nearing defeat, ISWAP continues to strengthen its hold around the Lake Chad region.
