Описание: Driving from Caribou to Limestone Maine. We drive along route US1 in Northern Maine. Limestone was incorporated as a town on March 17, 1869 and was named for regional limestone deposits. The town is best known for being the home of the Loring Air Force Base, the base was closed in 1994. It was one of the largest bases of the U.S. Air Force's Strategic Air Command during its existence. I went there at an airshow in 1976 when I was in the air cadets, we were part of the airshow, doing a marching parade. It's now a public airport.
