China Hosts Special Event to Commemorate 80th Anniversary of Long March Victory

Описание: China is holding a special convention on Friday to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Long March at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang is presiding at the commemoration.

Chinese President Xi Jinping, also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, is delivering a keynote speech at the event.

"Today, we're holding this solemn convention here to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Long March of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army," Xi says at the beginning of his speech.

"Confronted with the rigorous test to their very existence, the First, Second and Fourth Front Armies and Twenty-fifth Corps of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army commenced the great Long March which lasted from October 1934 to October 1936," Xi says.

The Long March was a military maneuver conducted by the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army of the CPC from 1934 to 1936. More on:http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20161021...
