An exhibition which hopes to bring two different versions of contemporary Ghanaian painting together on one stage. Paintings by two actively practicing artists from two different generations and with inspirations and motivations different in quite a marked way.

Nii Odai comes on board representing the version of Ghanaian painting which uses portraits of black people to express various thoughts and ideas of a contemporary generation whose inclinations are majorly influenced by the speed and urgencies of ICT, the Internet and social media. A new school of painters, sensitive to the new and overly dynamic world of constant change and very sensitive to the dictates of a world easily accessible to them through cyberspace.

NiiTMills on the other hand, is of the traditional Ghanaian painting school in which artists decide their own themes, materials and methods, schedules, colour schemes and even dealership. A tradition of artists who are majorly inspired and motivated by the cultural habits and practices of Ghana and of Africa as a whole.

You are respectfully invited to Buro, Osu Close, Plot No. 7, Accra, on the 30th of May, 2024, to be part of this mix and enjoy how the contrasts compliment each other.
